Pitch a local story

Stories worth hearing

Strong episodes begin with a clear local connection and something useful for listeners. A pitch might introduce a longtime resident, document a changing neighborhood, explain a community resource, explore local innovation, or share a lesson learned by a southern Arizona organization.

Possible podcast formats

  • One-on-one interviews with community voices
  • Oral histories and memories of Oro Valley
  • Short explainers about useful local topics
  • Roundtable conversations with multiple perspectives
  • Youth-created audio and guided student projects
  • Behind-the-scenes stories from local organizations and businesses

Pitching a story

Use the community inquiry form to describe the topic, why it matters locally, who should be involved, and any timing that affects the story. A submission is an invitation to talk, not a guarantee of production or publication.

Independent community media

Oro Valley Signal is an independent community project. It does not claim to speak for the Town of Oro Valley or any government agency. When a topic involves public policy or civic information, the project aims to distinguish reported facts, personal experience, and opinion.
